Northeast Mississippi Community College (NEMCC) has a new tool that will help train future first responders. The school cut the ribbon on a fully equipped ambulance donated by OnDemand Specialty Vehicles (ODSV), a division of Priority OnDemand.
The Ford Type II Transit ambulance is the same model used by Baptist Ambulance, a member of the Priority Ambulance family and a partner with NEMCC. The ambulance will help students as they prepare for working in real-world emergencies.
The donation reflects a full-circle moment for Bryan Gibson, CEO of Priority OnDemand, who began his EMS career as a paramedic in Prentiss County, where ODSV is headquartered. Gibson credits his early experiences in Northeast Mississippi as foundational to his career in emergency medical services (EMS) and healthcare leadership.
“As someone who got their start right here in Prentiss County, I know firsthand how important access to real-world training is in preparing the next generation of paramedics,” said Gibson. “We’re proud to invest in the future of EMS by supporting Northeast’s outstanding program.”
NEMCC’s EMT | Paramedic Program trains students for careers as advanced life support providers, preparing them for the demands of today’s emergency medical systems. With the addition of a working ambulance to the training fleet, students will benefit from enhanced realism in their education.
OnDemand Specialty Vehicles designs and manufactures custom ambulances and specialty medical vehicles for EMS providers across the nation. As part of Priority OnDemand, the company plays a key role in supporting the operational readiness of Priority Ambulance, one of the fastest-growing ambulance networks in the country. Priority Ambulance serves Prentiss County as Baptist Ambulance.
